Interning is an effective and rewarding way to help the children who call Talita Cumi their home, as well as the staff who make the children here their lives’ work. Interning with us allows for both a cross-cultural experience as well as a chance to work with a Christian non-profit organization. The Home has received many international interns throughout the years, stepping out of their worlds and into ours to become part of the Talita Cumi community.
At Talita Cumi we endeavour to provide a variety of opportunities for our interns, and design our internships based on the gifting of the intern. In the past, our interns have taught English, assisted in office work (promotional information, communication), given music lessons, organized events for the children, tutored, and any manner of other duties involved in running a children’s home like ours.
Interns are coordinated by two sending organizations: Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) through the program SALT or YAMEN and Evangelical Free Church of Canada Mission (EFCCM). Our partner organizations have application and interview processes. We do not to accept interns directly due to security reasons and liability. If you are interested in interning with us Talita Cumi, feel free to contact us. We would love to give you more information.
